Welcome to the beginning of a new era in Team Tournament bass fishing. Tournament bass fishing has come a long way since its inception by Ray Scott in 1967, and it is still evolving. The Bass Fishing Guild is the next step in its evolutionary process.

The purpose of the Bass Fishing Guild is to serve its members and to protect the integrity of our sport. These two principles are the foundation of this organization. While we openly state what our principles are, words alone are not enough. An organization’s principles are ultimately decided by its actions not its words.

So, how do our actions demonstrate our principles? As a member of the Bass Fishing Guild you will have a voice in your organization. “Organizational Rule #1: No changes can be made to either tournament or organizational rules without a 60% approval by active members that choose to participate in the vote for the proposed rule change.” So not only do you have a voice, but it actually counts. Again, we are here to serve you.

Our principles are not just limited to rules either. All financial records for each tournament season will be made available to any active member at the conclusion of that season. It’s your money and you should know where it goes. In fact, you’ll know where your money is going before the tournament season even begins. The rules governing financial matters are part of the organizational rules. Integrity can be tough to maintain without transparency.

Please take this time to read all of the organizational and tournament rules. There should be quite a few pleasant surprises there, and if you have questions or concerns about any of the rules please contact us. I look forward to seeing you on the water this season.

Best Regards,
Thomas Luker
Bass Fishing Guild Co-Founder
